  1. Greetings! I have a story I would like to submit for consideration, but my desktop refuses to save it as DOCX file. Would it be alright if I sent it as an RTF file instead?

    1. Hello,

Thanks for your interest in the anthology. Yes, an RTF file would be perfectly fine. Thanks for checking first.

  2. Is the “Your tale should include at least one dead or undead creature” 100% strict? Because I have a tale in the making that involves cannibalism but a cannibal isn’t necessarily either dead nor undead. Also, any slight flexibility on the dead-line? I’m talking days not weeks as I only had this request for submissions brought to my attention a few days ago. Thank you.

There is some flexibility there, so long as the story has the “dreadpunk” feels I’m looking for. Gothic atmosphere, historical-flavored setting (dreadpunk isn’t always necessarily Victorian, but that’s what I’m looking for). If you’re unclear on what dreadpunk means, this article explains it pretty well.

I can be a bit flexible on the deadline; please mention when sending in your submission that I gave you the “ok” for a late submission. Also, your story still has to be good if it’s going to be accepted, whether it’s punctual or not. I’ve already received a great deal of excellent submissions!

      Thank you for your interest!
